In her essay I Fucked a Girl, Ms. Manhattan (named, we believe, for the island rather than the cocktail or the chowder) shreds – and then folds, spindles and mutilates – the gay-straight-bisexual matrix, and probably the Kinsey scale too. While probably making people of any sexual preference hot. And tells a couple of stories that would be fascinating even if they didn’t cause the blood to heat up.

I love kissing girls. Because they’re soft like the word kiss. Soft like passion should be, and their hands brush your hair back from your face gently as you suck their lips. I kissed Devon’s neck, her shoulders, her ear: and when she removed her shirt, there was something dizzyingly androgynous for me about her boyish figure. I can’t explain what had made the transition, but I felt like I was finally looking with a woman’s eyes.

It was unavoidable. Any one of the following reasons would have done it all by itself – combined, we were powerless:

We like the word, and the concept, exegesis. (And her blog’s name is a play on it).
She’s smart, and well-read. Who else could talk about Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and BDSM in the same paragraph? (actually, one other person, the polyamorist/psychotherapist/author Nan Wise, but still, that’s only two).
Her blog is full up with wonderful posts – or up-to-the-minute really important stuff – at least for all of the pervs in her audience.

Here’s one excerpt – we’d plagiarize it all if not for wanting to curry favor:

Bad Influence Girl is an exemplar of the principle of truth in advertising. We discovered her as a commenter at Always Aroused Girl. She can turn something clean and wholesome, like housework, into something perverse and dirty, as in this post about laundry. For shame.

What’s more – the always-worth-reading Marcelle Manhattan reads her, too. Better references one doesn’t get.
